Dominic Lesniewski Driver History
Karting History: Dominic’s first taste of racing came when he was 13. His father and now manager bought him a Formula TKM kart which they raced at Buckmore Park, Ryehouse, Lydd International and Forest edge. He also participated in 2001 NKRA championship.
Global GT Light 600cc: Following a visit to the 2000 Autosport show both Adam and Dominic saw the Global GT Lights which they found to be an interesting and cost effective formula. In the autumn of 2002 Dominic tested a Global GT Light and competed in two of the three winter rounds. In 2003 he contested the Global GT Lights championship and finished 5th overall in his maiden year. In 2004 he was run by TJ Motorsport and took the championship battling of Dave Mountain. At the age of 17 he was the youngest Global GT Lights champion achieving 14 pole positions and a record number of wins.
Global GT Light Yamaha R1:Dominic made an unexpected comeback to the 2004 Global GT lights championship. The championship now consisting off 2 classes 1000cc and 600cc. Having not raced the 1000cc Global in the dry before and not sat in a Global for 6months Dominic made a few heads turn as he drove a blinding weekend at Mallory Park and achieved an incredible 1st and 2nd.
Sports 2000:In 2004 Dominic was invited by Graham Hathaway Engineering to participate at Snetterton in a Sports 2000 endurance race partnering Dave Mountain in his Van Diemen Sports 2000. Were they finished 2nd Overall and 2nd in class.
Chevrolet Corvette 5.7 V8: In the beginning of 2004 Dominic was approached by Jensen Motorsport to drive their Chevrolet Corvette in the Cup class of the British GT Championship. He drove for the team up to and including the Snetterton race meeting.
Porsche 911 GT3 Cup: Dominic was approached by Tech9 motorsport to partner Adam Sharpe in the Cup class Porsche GT3 in July 2004. They went on to take four podiums. A 1st at Oulton Park a 2nd at Silverstone a 3rd at Thruxton and a 1st at Brands Hatch, the final round of the championship. These results gained Tech9 the Cup class Championship. Dominic won his maiden race for the team. Dominic also competed in the Bahrain GT Festival in November partnering Phil Keen.
Marcos Mantis: In the later part of 2004 TJ Motorpsort approached Dominic to drive a Marcos Mantis at the Croft and Brands Hatch rounds of the Britcar Championship. The Brands Hatch meeting was a night race on the full Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit
